Assistant / Associate Professor of Physics in "Advanced Materials" (m/f/d)
You are expected to establish an internationally leading research group in an experimental area of Physics with a strong focus on the development and characterization of Advanced Materials. In this context, interdisciplinary research is strongly encouraged. The successful candidate is further expected to support teaching in Physics (lecture and laboratory courses) at the BSc, MSc, and PhD level, to develop and implement innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to online, hybrid and in person teaching and le arning, to advise students on their studies, and to supervise Bachelor, Masters' and PhD theses and research projects. The university is highly supportive of junior faculty, providing both formal and informal mentoring, administrative support, as well as a flexible budget for establishing an internationally visible research group. Several opportunities exist to develop multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with other research groups or our industrial partners, including collaborations in emerging fields such as the use of artificial intelligence in the natural sciences.
PhD degree in the field of Condensed Matter Physics or Material Science. Strong publication record Experience and success in teaching in the context of international and diverse environments Demonstrable interest in innovative teaching and learning approaches Experience in transferring research knowledge to solving problems in engineering and science Responsible, self motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Intercultural experience and competence Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus Ideally, the successful candidate should be eligible to apply for an ERC Starting Grant.
